Semillon is an old variety in McLaren Vale and Sauvignon Blanc gives extra lift and zing in this classic blend.
Tasting Notes: Semillon/ Sauvignon Blanc 2008
An excellent example of the way these two varietals can work in harmony. The nose has crisp green apple with tropical hints that amplify in the mouth, expanding to suggest nashi pear and citrus. The Semillon adds texture and weight while the Sauvignon Blanc imparts a fresh, crispness to the wine. A little restraint makes it an ideal match with food.
