Nebbiolo

Nebbiolo is a variety "on the edge". It is a light savoury style with red fruit and floral characters and usually surprisingly tannic to taste when still on the vine. Coriole has produced Nebbiolo for over a decade in the traditional red table wine style of Northern Italy. Nebbiolo is one of the extreme varieties of the wine world. However it can be one of the most satisfying wines with a range of foods.

Tasting Brief

2008 Nebbiolo - The nose suggests tamarillo, blood orange and savoury florals.

The palate shows the typical long, dry tannin which is the signature for this medium weight varietal with a little citrus, five spice and fruit sweetness followed by a savoury, leather complexity. Fine and even - but intense and powerful like all good Nebbiolo.

91 points - Gary Walsh
