Lloyd Reserve Shiraz

Lloyd Reserve Shiraz is produced from a single vineyard at Coriole, planted in 1919 by Geoffrey Kay. It was first retained as a separate wine in 1989. It is one of Langtons Classified Wines of Australia. This vineyard typically produces a wine of great intensity and can be cellared for many years. The wine is matured in French oak with typically about 40% new.

Tasting Brief: 2007 "Lloyd Reserve" Shiraz

The 2007 vintage in McLaren Vale was very distinctive with a more traditional red wine style produced.

The nose displays cassis, berry, plum skins and an earthiness seen in many 2007 McLaren Vale reds.

The palate is full and round with notes of pepper, leather and earth. A tight, structural, robust Lloyd Reserve that has long, even tannins and length. Cellar confidently for up to 15-20 years.
