Scarce Earth Old House Shiraz
Single vineyard planted in 1969
This is a small bottling of 150 dozen chosen by a panel to be included in the "Scarce Earth" series that aims to highlights the different gelogies of Mclaren Vale.
The vineyard was planted in 1969 and typically provided intense and concentrated wines with soft tannin and great persistence of flavour
2013. 95 Points. A Scarce Earth release. From a 30yo vineyard. It shows intensity, spice and elegance even in a context of warming alcohol. Licorice, plum, graphite and clove flavours with grated woody spices expanding the show. Toasty/spicy oak gets it all into smooth line. No question over its quality. - James Halliday
