The Soloist

Shiraz is a great tradition in McLaren Vale, dating back to the 1850's. The first Coriole Shiraz was bottled in 1970 with the first vines planted in 1919. 'The Soloist' is produced from a single Shiraz vineyard at Coriole - planted in 1969, on red brown earth over limestone soil.

2015. 95 Points .It glides and swirls, this wine takes you on a journey and the ride is so smooth. It starts with a single vineyard, the glorious fruit shining strongly through the 80% new French oak hogsheads (aged 2 years). This has power and presence. The palate enveloped with ripe glossy tannins, long and persistent on the finish. Captivating. - James Halliday

2014- 96 Points From a single estate block planted in ’69 on red-brown earth over limestone soil, matured in french oak. This sings a different song to its Estate Grown sibling, with more intensity, cut and length to the expressive and complex palate. This is McLaren Vale at its best and carries its alcohol with consummate ease.  - James Halliday

2013- 95 Points This is a beautiful, medium to full-bodied McLaren Vale shiraz, all the components of site, variety, fruit, oak and tannins perfectly articulated. - James Halliday
