Lloyd Reserve Shiraz

Shiraz is a great tradition in McLaren Vale, dating back to the 1850's.

Lloyd Reserve Shiraz is produced from a single vineyard at Coriole that was planted in 1919 and the first wine released in 1989.

The soil and roots are extremely deep and generally no irrigation is required. The wine is matured in French oak for approximately 18 months and then receives 12+ months in bottle before release.

Lloyd Reserve Shiraz is one of Langton's classified wines of Australia.

2014 . 96 Points- It's easy to be seduced by the beautiful deep purple colour but it's the flavours, the palate that really matter. They star in this complex wine. Savoury toned, full-bodied, ripe and concentrated and yet, there's this line of definition and detail. The oak, sitting at 30% new French hogsheads, is seamlessly integrated. - James Halliday

2013. 97 Points James Halliday. - James Halliday

2012. 95 Points. Deep garnet/purple, the 2012 Shiraz Lloyd Reserve is profoundly scented of crushed blueberries, blackberries and mulberries with hints of cedar, toast, marmite, menthol, spice box and anise. This full-bodied and concentrated Syrah is built like a brick house giving muscular fruit flavors that are structured by firm, fine tannins. It has a long, well-poised finish. - The Wine Advocate
