Our post-vintage and then pre-blending assessment tastings are always a fascinating insight into the variations of style our many vineyards deliver.
We will often taste (blind) through 30+ single blocks of shiraz and rank them according to both quality and style.
Over the course of these tastings there are often wines that sit up and say "single vineyard"! That is - the wine possess a completeness and quality that is something special.
This is in contrast to our sangiovese tastings where 95% of the time the combination of all the different blocks is better than any individual component.
