2022 is our eighth release of Piquepoul - we were the first to grow Piquepoul in Australia.
The nose is spritely and fresh showing fresh lemon, cypress and white nectarine.
The palate is fine and long with fresh acidity providing drive and texture, flavours of citrus blossom, jasmine flower and wet stone leaving the palate craving seafood, natural oysters especially!
James Halliday's Top 100 wines of 2022 - The Australian
"That this rare variety 'has been one of the favourite grape varieties of the Lloyd family for many years' is easily understood once you have tasted this wine, a cross between fiano and marsanne. It has truly delicious and refreshing acidity on its finish. 93 points"
James Halliday, Wine Companion
"Ripe lemon, fragrant with mint/aniseed/basil (take your pick, I can’t decide), white nectarine. It’s fresh and light with a saline/brine edge, fine powdery texture, a cinch of preserved lemon bitterness, a little honey, and a juicy and pleasantly salty finish of excellent length. All just so. Great drink. 93 points"
