Montepulciano was first planted at Coriole back in 2001. We love the variety for its rich intensity and lovely array of savoury characters to balance the dark cherry fruit.
Gold Medal - 2020 Australian Alternative Varieties Wine Show
"Youthfully deep purple/red colour. The aroma is plummy, bold and clean, driven by ripe fruit, the palate full-bodied and rich, soft and fleshy, and superbly balanced. Lovely long, harmonious aftertaste. Chocolate touches, nice fine savoury tannins. An exemplary monte. 93 points"
Huon Hooke, The Real Review
"‘Monte’ is an Italian grape with many Aussie enthusiasts and this one’s a cracker ... more please! 93 points"
Gourmet Traveller Wine
"Lesser known Italian varieties are muscling into the limelight right now, and this wine captures why. Packed full of flavour, this has grip and race to keep things fresh – killer with spicy salami pizza."
